How it works

  1. Download Impulso and sign up. Takes about a minute and it's free.
  2. Connect your steps. Apple Health or Health Connect, so it counts automatically. Nothing to log.
  3. Enter the Stromlo Challenge. Entry is open now and stays open right through race weekend, so you can join today or on the start line.
  4. Everyone starts on zero at 5:50am Saturday. Counting begins with the marathon gun. Nothing you walk before the start counts, no matter when you entered.
  5. Walk, run, race. Most verified steps from the gun until Sunday night wins.
  6. Get paid. Prizes go straight to your bank account.

Not at the race?

You don't need a bib. The Stromlo Challenge is open to everyone, so you can take part from wherever you are.

Fair warning though. A half marathon is around 27,000 steps before anyone has even left the event, so the runners are going to be very hard to beat.

There's more than one comp

Stromlo is a one off, but Impulso runs comps all year. One day comps every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Week long step comps. And Team vs Team, where you grab a mate and the winning team splits the prize. All free to join.
