These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Impulso app
("Impulso", "we", "us") and your entry into the step comps, leagues and Special Comps offered in it.
Impulso is operated by Serour Designs (the "Operator"). By creating an account or
entering a comp you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you
do not agree, do not use Impulso.
Impulso comps are games of skill. Winners are decided solely by the number of
verified steps recorded during the comp. There is no random draw and no element of chance. Prizes are
fixed amounts funded by the Operator (and, where shown, our sponsors), announced
before a comp opens. Most comps are free to enter. Special Comps charge an entry
fee, but their prizes are still fixed and funded by the Operator: entry fees never fund or change
the prize.
1. Definitions
Comp / League / Challenge - a time limited competition in which members compete on Verified Steps.
Free Comp - a comp with no entry fee.
Special Comp - a comp that charges an Entry Fee, shown with a "Special" label in the app.
Entry Fee - the amount in Australian dollars shown on a Special Comp before you enter.
Entry Window - the period during which you may enter a comp.
Comp Period - the period over which steps are counted toward the result.
Division - your tier (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond). Some comps are limited to a division.
Verified Steps - steps recorded and accepted by Impulso's server side scoring and integrity checks.
Team Comp - a comp entered as a team of a stated size, ranked by the team's combined Verified Steps.
Prize - the fixed, Operator funded amount (or sponsor item) announced for a comp, awarded to the place or places announced for that comp.
Wallet - your in app balance of prizes, referral bonuses and refunds.
2. Your account
You must be at least 18 years old to use Impulso. You confirm this when you sign up.
One account per person. Multiple, duplicate or shared accounts are not permitted.
Keep your sign in details secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
Your username must be 3 to 20 characters (letters, numbers, dots and underscores) and must not impersonate anyone, mislead, or be offensive. We may change a username that breaks this rule.
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Withdraw any Wallet balance first: once an account is deleted we may not be able to pay it out.
3. Eligibility for comps and prizes
You must be at least 18 and located in a region where Impulso comps are offered and lawful.
Special Comps and cash prizes are open only to Australian residents aged 18 or over.
You must have an account in good standing. There is no subscription or membership fee.
Employees of the Operator and their immediate households are not eligible to win cash prizes.
4. Entering a comp
When a comp opens, you may enter during its Entry Window. Once the Entry Window closes, entry is closed.
Some comps are restricted to a division, and some have a maximum number of entrants. Once a comp is full, no more entries are accepted.
You can be entered in up to three prize comps at a time.
Free Comps cost nothing to enter. There is no payment of any kind.
A comp may specify a minimum number of entrants (or, for Team Comps, full teams). If the minimum is not met when entry closes, the comp is cancelled, entries are void and no prize is awarded. For a Special Comp, every Entry Fee is refunded in full (see section 5). Entrants are notified in the app.
5. Special Comps, entry fees and refunds
The Entry Fee, prize, prize split, minimum and maximum entrants and comp dates are shown before you pay. The Entry Fee is charged in Australian dollars and includes any applicable taxes. No surcharge is added.
One entry per member per Special Comp.
How you pay. Your Wallet balance is used first (you can turn this off at checkout). Any remainder is charged to your card, Apple Pay or Google Pay through our payment provider, Stripe. Impulso never sees or stores your full card details.
Your entry is confirmed only once payment succeeds. If your payment is declined or you close the payment screen, you are not entered and nothing is charged.
Change your mind. You can withdraw from a Special Comp at any time before it starts for a full refund.
Cancelled comps. If a Special Comp does not reach its minimum entrants, or we cancel it for any other reason, every entrant receives a full refund automatically.
If your payment succeeds but your entry cannot be completed (for example the comp filled or entry closed while you were paying), you are refunded in full automatically.
Refunds go back to where the money came from: the Wallet part to your Wallet straight away, and the card part to your card. Card refunds usually appear within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.
Once a Special Comp has started, Entry Fees are not refundable, except where these Terms or the law require a refund.
The prize for a Special Comp is fixed and funded by the Operator. It does not depend on, and is not paid from, the Entry Fees collected.
6. How winners are decided
Members are ranked by total Verified Steps recorded during the Comp Period. In a Team Comp, complete teams are ranked by their combined Verified Steps. Elimination and other game modes follow the rules shown on that comp in the app.
The winning places are announced before each comp opens: some comps pay the top three (split as announced), some pay a single winner the whole prize, and a Team Comp pays the winning team, split equally among its members.
Ties are broken in favour of the member (or team) who entered the comp earliest.
Only steps that pass Impulso's verification and integrity checks count. Where you sync steps from more than one source on the same day, the highest single reading counts, never the sum. Results are calculated by the Operator's servers and are final, subject to the review process below.
7. Prizes
Prizes are fixed amounts funded by the Operator (or items provided by a sponsor) and announced before the comp opens. They are never pooled from members' entries or Entry Fees.
Cash prizes are credited to your Wallet and may be withdrawn, subject to verification (section 8), or used toward Special Comp Entry Fees.
Prizes are not transferable and cannot be exchanged except as described in these Terms.
You are responsible for any taxes payable on prizes you receive.
8. Wallet, verification and payouts
Impulso uses server side scoring, anomaly detection and manual review of payouts to protect results.
To withdraw, you provide your bank details in the app. Payouts are sent through our payout provider, Wise, and may be held pending review.
We may hold, review, delay or decline a payout where results are flagged or unverified, or where we reasonably suspect a breach of these Terms or applicable law.
Money held for a Special Comp checkout in progress cannot be withdrawn until that checkout completes or is cancelled.
Withdrawals are processed to your nominated account, subject to provider timeframes and any minimums shown in the app.
9. Fair play and prohibited conduct
To protect the integrity of competition, you must not:
Manipulate, fabricate, automate or artificially generate steps (for example shaking or mounting a device, using machines, vehicles, animals, bots or step spoofing tools).
Use more than one account, or enter on behalf of another person.
Tamper with the app, your device's health data, or attempt to bypass integrity checks.
Use a modified, emulated, rooted or jailbroken device to enter or compete.
Collude with other members to influence a result.
10. Friends, profiles and comp chat
Friends. You can send friend requests by username. Friendships are mutual: a member only becomes your friend when you both accept. If you sign up with someone's invite code, or someone signs up with yours, you become friends automatically. You can remove a friend at any time.
What friends see. Friends can see your daily steps, daily goal, streak, division and recent step history. You can turn off Share my steps with friends at any time; friends then see you in their list without your numbers.
Public profile. Your public profile (division, region, photo, total steps and comps won) is off by default. Until you turn it on, members who are not your friends see only your name and username. Friends can always see your profile.
Comp chat. Each comp has a chat for its entrants. Be respectful. You must not post abuse, harassment, hate speech, sexual content, threats, spam, scams, other people's personal information, or anything unlawful. You can report or block any member from inside the chat.
We may remove messages, mute or restrict chat access, change usernames, or suspend accounts that break these rules. You are responsible for what you post.
11. Disqualification and forfeiture
We may disqualify an entry, void a result, withhold or reclaim a prize, suspend or close an account,
and ban a member from future comps, where we reasonably determine a breach of these Terms, cheating,
fraud, or attempted manipulation. Forfeited prizes may be reallocated to the next eligible member or
retained by the Operator. A Special Comp Entry Fee is not refunded where an entry is disqualified for
cheating or fraud, except where the law requires.
12. Changes, suspension and cancellation
We may add, change, pause, reschedule or cancel a comp, and correct errors in scoring or prize
information, where reasonably necessary (for example for technical issues, suspected manipulation, or
legal reasons). Where a comp is cancelled before completion, no prize is awarded for it, and any
Special Comp Entry Fees are refunded in full.
13. Daily goals, streaks and divisions
You can choose any daily goal unlocked by the highest division you have reached. A change takes effect from the next day, and each day's streak is judged against the goal in force on that day.
Divisions are earned on your Verified Steps over a rolling 30 day window. Each promotion starts a fresh count toward the next division. A division, once reached, is not taken away.
We may adjust goals, streak rules and division thresholds to keep the game fair, and will tell you in the app when we do.
14. Health and safety
Impulso encourages regular, sustainable activity. Do not overexert yourself to compete.
Increase your activity gradually, rest when you need to, and consult a medical professional before
significantly changing your activity levels. You participate at your own risk and are responsible
for exercising safely and within your ability.
15. Disclaimers and liability
Impulso and its comps are provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Operator is
not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for injury or harm arising from your activity, or for
issues caused by your device, network or third party services (including payment providers). Nothing in
these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy, or any guarantee, that cannot lawfully
be excluded, including under the Australian Consumer Law.
16. Privacy
Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Leaderboards display your display name, region and step total or rank to other members.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above and, for
significant changes, tell you in the app. Changes do not affect a Special Comp you have already entered.
If you keep using Impulso after a change, the updated Terms apply.
18. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Australian Capital Territory, Australia. You submit to the
non exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that place.
