Privacy Policy

Effective 8 June 2026 · Last updated 8 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the Impulso mobile app ("Impulso", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information. Impulso is operated by Serour Designs (Australia). We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

Impulso is a fitness app that turns walking into friendly, skill based competition. To do that we need to count your steps, track your progress toward divisions and goals, manage your membership, and (where enabled) run giveaway leagues and pay winnings. We only collect what we need for those purposes.

1. Information we collect

Account information

Your email address, a display name, and your selected region. We use Supabase for authentication and data storage.

Health and fitness data (steps)

With your permission, Impulso reads your daily step count from Apple Health (HealthKit) or Android Health Connect. You can also enter steps manually. We use this only to show your daily goal, update your division, build leaderboards, and score the challenges you join.

Membership and payments

Subscription status (trial or paid) is managed through the Apple App Store / Google Play and RevenueCat. If cash giveaways and withdrawals are enabled, identity verification and payout details are handled by Stripe; we do not store your full bank or card details on our servers.

Device and anti fraud signals

To keep competition fair and protect giveaway integrity, we may collect device integrity signals (Apple App Attest / Google Play Integrity) and detect abnormal step patterns.

Usage analytics

We use PostHog to understand how the app is used (for example, screens viewed and features used) so we can improve it. This does not include your raw health data.

Support communications

If you contact us, we keep your messages and contact details to respond.

2. How we use your information

3. Your health data is treated carefully

Your step / health data is read only and is used only to operate Impulso's goals, divisions and challenges. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run Impulso, and only as needed:

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and property of Impulso, our members or the public.

What other members can see

Leaderboards show your display name and your step total / rank for challenges you join, to other members in that challenge. Choose a display name you are comfortable sharing.

5. Giveaways, payments and identity verification

Where giveaway leagues with cash giveaways are enabled, giveaways are fixed, operator funded amounts. To receive a payout you may need to verify your identity through Stripe and meet eligibility and challenge terms. Information collected for verification is used only to process and protect those payments.

6. Data retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal, tax and anti fraud obligations.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account in the app. This permanently removes your account and associated data from our database, and frees your email for future sign up. Some records may be retained where the law requires (for example financial records of payouts). You can also email us to request deletion.

7. Security

We use reputable infrastructure providers and apply access controls, encryption in transit, and server side checks for sensitive actions (scoring, giveaways and payouts). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

8. Children

Impulso is intended for users aged 18 and over. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Your privacy rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act and APPs you can request access to, and correction of, the personal information we hold about you, and you can withdraw permissions (such as health access) at any time in your device settings. To make a request, email us using the details below.

If you are not satisfied with how we handle a privacy matter, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

10. International data transfers

Some of our service providers (such as Supabase, Stripe, RevenueCat and PostHog) may store or process information outside Australia. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with this policy and applicable law.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
